アガパンサス (紫君子蘭) に萼はある？

学名：Agapanthus africanus
ヒガンバナ科 Amaryllidaceae (旧ユリ科 Liliaceae) アガパンサス属 Agapanthus
東向き花壇。6月20日初咲き。
ー昨年の開花は6月21日、昨年は16・17日頃。ウチのは薄い青色のと白花だが、薄紫色の品種もある。

散形花序 ((umbel) の花茎は 1m ぐらいに伸びる。花序 (inflorescence) 全体を包む苞葉 (bract leaf) は花序が開き切る頃には落ちてしまう。(写真2, 3, 4)

小花 (floret) は萼片 (sepal) と花弁 (petal) が分化しておらず(写真 1)、このように萼片・花弁が未分化の花を同花被花 (homochlamydeous flower) と言う。

また、各部品を花被片 (tepal)、その全体 (いわゆる萼と花) を花被 (perianth) と言う。
アガパンサスの小花は萼 (calyx) にあたる外花被 (outer perianth)(３片)・花冠(corolla) にあたる
内花被 (inner perianth)(３片) から成るが、
これらは基部が離れていないので合生花被 (syntepalous) と言う。

小花の基部に細長い丸まった小苞 (bractlet) がある(写真 5)。花序全体を包んでいた苞(bract)(写真 2, 3, 4) と同色。
なかには花被と同じ色のものがある。根元に花柄のようなものも見られるので、もしかしたら花になりきれなかったのかな。
花弁も萼も苞も葉の一種ですからね。
